Personal Statement

Dr. Nino Mihatov is a board certified interventional and structural cardiologist at New York Presbyterian Brooklyn-Methodist Hospital and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College.

Dr. Mihatov’s clinical focus is in providing each patient with the optimal therapies in the area of valvular heart disease and coronary artery disease. His main focus is on the use of cutting-edge tools to perform percutaneous coronary intervention, transcatheter valve replacement or repair with devices such as TAVR or TEER, and stroke prevention with left atrial appendage occlusion devices.

Biographical Info

Dr. Mihatov obtained his BS from Georgetown University followed by his MD from Duke University School of Medicine. He then completed his internal medicine residency, chief medical residency, and general cardiology fellowship training at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School where he was chief fellow. Thereafter, he completed fellowships in interventional cardiology and structural heart disease at Columbia University Irving Medical Center/New York Presbyterian Hospital. He currently serves as the Associate Program Director for the general cardiology fellowship. 

Dr. Mihatov’s research interests focus on the implementation of novel devices into clinical practice and outcomes associated with interventional procedures. He has authored recent publications in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Circulation, and the New England Journal of Medicine.
